Last year, Portugal and Spain once again bucked the downward trend in book sales in Europe, according to a study revealed by the German company GfK at the London Book Fair.

Miguel Pauseiro, president of the Association of Publishers and Booksellers, reflects on the increase in book sales. He highlights the good news but warns: “cyclical growth is not structural growth”.
