Portugal joins International Biathlon Day
The Portuguese Winter Sports Federation (FDI-Portugal) is hosting an event in Covilhã this Saturday, May 30, as part of the global International Biathlon Day celebrations. The initiative, part of the International Biathlon Union's 'Biathlon 4 All' programme, aims to introduce the sport to new audiences by using laser rifles and adapted activities like running and rollerskiing, removing the need for snow or firearms. The event will feature Olympic athlete Victoria Padial, coach Alexandre Nappa, and Portuguese athlete Filipe Cabrita, and serves as a talent scouting opportunity for local winter sports clubs.
