Beach to widen by 40 metres between Quarteira and Quinta do Lago, but the replenished sand is expected to last only 10 years
Sand will be dredged six kilometres offshore by a high-powered dredger and deposited along a 6.7-kilometre stretch.
Beach sand reinforcement between Quarteira and Garrão begins on Monday and finishes before the bathing season
The contract between the Government and the company was signed on Friday in Loulé.
