Today five lorries left Vizela loaded with tarpaulins, roof tiles and water, heading to the areas most affected by Storm Kristin.

Materials can be collected from Sunday at the Old Municipal Stadium from 09:00 to 12:30 and from 14:00 to 17:00.

The council added that teams are on the ground and working to reduce disruptions and to restore normality to household waste collection as quickly as possible.

The distribution of goods for people affected by the bad weather is centralised at the Pousos pavilion, near the city of Leiria, Luís Lopes, the Civil Protection councillor, told the Lusa news agency today.
