European case law and examples led bishops to lower proposed compensation for abuse

The president of the Portuguese Episcopal Conference (CEP) stated today that the amounts defined as compensation for victims of sexual abuse were calculated taking into account court case law and other European cases, resulting in figures lower than those initially proposed.
