Chinese airline Beijing Capital Airlines will launch a direct seasonal air link between Beijing and Lisbon for three months starting in late June. The flight will operate weekly using Airbus A330 aircraft. Currently, there are no regular direct flights between the two cities, with connections usually requiring stopovers in European or Middle Eastern hubs. This announcement comes amid regional instability affecting other flight paths and follows the airline's existing direct route between Lisbon and Hangzhou. The expansion highlights competitive advantages for Chinese carriers, who retain access to Russian airspace, unlike European airlines facing sanctions-related restrictions.
