ALA president João Pinheiro noted that summer reservations are failing to meet expectations, with businesses facing financial difficulties. The association attributes the downturn to rising airfares from flag carriers TAP and SATA, as well as changes to the mobility subsidy scheme, which have made the Azores a more expensive destination.
