Gas emissions in the European Union have fallen by 40% since 1990

The European Union reduced emissions by 3% between 2023 and 2024, reaching a 40% decrease compared to 1990. The target is 55% by 2030. 'Almost all member states contributed,' says the agency. Portugal cut only 1%.
