With a vast geological heritage within the municipal boundaries of Loulé, Silves, and Albufeira, the Algarvensis Geopark joined the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (GGN) this Thursday, which now totals 241 geoparks across 51 countries. It is the seventh Portuguese geopark to achieve this status.
