Lisbon will be the first city outside Brazil to issue the new National Identity Card (CIN). This feature provides citizens access to over four thousand digital services, including electronic signatures, certificates, electoral services, vaccination records, criminal background checks, and tax regularisation. The pilot project launches on Thursday, 16 April, at 11:00, with Minister of Management and Innovation Esther Dweck in attendance. The programme is in its testing phase and will be available to consulate users from that date. To request the service, the Brazilian community in the Lisbon jurisdiction must access the e-Consular system, which will redirect them to the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) service portal. After submitting the required documentation, biometric data collection will be scheduled at the consulate, supported by remote assistance. This initiative aims to strengthen the citizenship of the Brazilian community abroad, reflecting the commitment of the Itamaraty and the Brazilian State to its diaspora.
