The Brazilian trio Gilsons, who frequently perform in Portugal, have announced two shows in the country for October to mark the end of their world tour. The performances will take place at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon on the 17th and at the Coliseu Porto Ageas in Porto on the 18th. Formed in 2018, the group consists of José Gil, Francisco Gil, and João Gil, the son and grandsons of Gilberto Gil. The band gained prominence by blending Brazilian music references with contemporary elements, spanning MPB, samba, pop, rap, and Bahian influences. With only a few years in their career, the trio has built a loyal fanbase, driven by hits such as “Várias Queixas”, “Love Love”, and “Devagarinho”. In 2022, they released the album Pra Gente Acordar and, the following year, won the Brazilian Music Award in the best pop/rock group category. Their relationship with Portugal is recent but consistent, having performed at the Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival in 2024 and the Ageas CoolJazz in Cascais in 2025. Information regarding ticket prices and sales dates for these upcoming shows has not yet been released.
