Diesel price to drop by 5.5 cents and petrol by 3 cents next week

Fuel prices in Portugal are set to fall next week, with simple diesel decreasing by approximately 5.5 cents per litre and 95-octane petrol by three cents. These forecasts were provided to the Lusa agency by the National Association of Fuel Retailers (ANAREC) and include VAT. Based on current data from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price for 95-octane petrol is expected to be 1.913 euros per litre, while simple diesel should be 2.090 euros per litre. Final averages may vary based on international oil market fluctuations and individual station pricing. This decrease follows recent price hikes driven by geopolitical tensions in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, though Brent crude prices have recently retreated following a temporary ceasefire announcement by US President Donald Trump.
