Portugal is the fifth country in the European Union (EU) where the most popular regions for getaways booked via computer or mobile phone are located. The attractiveness of the Algarve placed the southern Portuguese region at the top for short-term tourism in the third quarter of last year, with 6.7 million nights booked.
