The PS secretary-general challenged the Prime Minister this Friday, May 1st, to drop the labour reform, which he claims is offensive to workers by harming young people and women, and argued that it is up to the trade unions to decide on a general strike. José Luís Carneiro stated that the government's stubbornness offends the most vulnerable, and he guaranteed that the PS will do everything to prevent the government from undermining workers' rights. Regarding the general strike called by the CGTP for June 3rd, Carneiro stated that such decisions are the responsibility of the trade unions.
