Road accident deaths rose by almost 36% this year, totalling 133

Provisional data from the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) shows that over 41,000 road accidents recorded this year have resulted in 133 deaths, an increase of 35 compared to the same period last year. The report indicates that between 1 January and 6 April, there were 41,045 accidents on Portuguese roads, with the government now planning to present a new package of strategic road safety measures following a tragic Easter period.
