A man died early this morning in the municipality of Leiria from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a generator. In Alcobaça, nine other people were also poisoned by a generator; five are in serious condition. In total, 15 people attended hospital emergency departments.

Carbon monoxide (monóxido de carbono) is a colorless, odorless gas produced when fuels burn incompletely (gas, wood, petrol, diesel, generators).
