Transtejo is preparing a new ferry service that could depart from Montijo or operate from Seixal or Barreiro. This may require purchasing additional vessels. The company is studying a location for a pontoon in Algés.
There will be a river link from the South Bank to Parque das Nações. The Algés–Trafaria service will be in 2027
