Parliament approved the new Nationality Law this Wednesday, with favourable votes from PSD, Chega, IL, and CDS, and votes against from the remaining benches. The amendments to the first decree prevent citizens who have been sentenced to an effective prison term of three or more years for crimes from obtaining nationality.
