The Aveiro Family and Juvenile Court has scheduled the reading of the verdict for the trial of a minor accused of killing his mother in Vagos in October 2025 for April 17th at 10:00 AM. The 14-year-old boy is being tried behind closed doors under an Educational Guardianship Process for acts constituting qualified homicide. During closing arguments on Friday, April 10th, the Public Prosecutor's Office requested the maximum penalty of three years of detention in a closed educational centre. The trial is being held in private, though the final decision will be public. The minor, currently held in a closed educational centre, is being judged by a collective court. The case concerns the death of Vagos city councillor Susana Gravato, who was shot inside her home in Gafanha da Vagueira on October 21, 2025. The Judiciary Police identified her son as the sole suspect less than 24 hours after the crime.
