Cândido Mota passed away this Sunday, May 3rd, at the age of 82 at Hospital Santa Maria in Lisbon, following undisclosed health issues. His daughter, Teresa Mota, confirmed he passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. António José Seguro and the PCP party paid tribute to his legacy as a pioneering broadcaster, a key figure in the 1974 Carnation Revolution, and the long-time voice of the Festa do Avante!.
