A 61-year-old man died this Wednesday, April 22, in Caxinas, Vila do Conde, Porto district, after falling from a roof, according to a source from the Póvoa de Varzim fire department. The victim was reportedly making repairs to the roof of a house on Avenida Carlos Pinto Ferreira in Caxinas when, for reasons yet to be determined, he fell from a height of five metres. The fall was fatal and death was declared at the scene. The Póvoa de Varzim fire department dispatched an ambulance with two personnel, and the Vila do Conde fire department was subsequently called to transport the body to the Porto Institute of Legal Medicine. The PSP was also called to the scene to record the incident. A GNR soldier was also seriously injured after falling from a roof at the Leiria barracks.
