The man accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at anti-abortion protesters during the March for Life on 21 March has been placed in pre-trial detention. The court accepted arguments from the Judiciary Police and the DCIAP regarding flight risk, noting the 39-year-old suspect's ties to the United States. The suspect, a designer and member of the Socialist Party (PS), faces charges including terrorism, possession of a prohibited weapon, arson, and causing serious physical harm. The attack, which caused no injuries, has been condemned by political figures as an assault on democracy, while security reports highlight a rise in radicalised activity within extreme-left movements.
