The National School of Firefighters (ENB) is launching a new emergency radio to encourage safety preparedness. One year after the major blackout on 28 April, ENB president Lídio Jorge stresses that while the country is better prepared, citizens must still maintain emergency kits and family plans to be self-sufficient during the critical window before professional help arrives. The initiative aims to foster a culture of safety, similar to the national effort for recycling, in response to increasing global instability and extreme weather events.
