The Supreme Court of Justice has denied a habeas corpus request from former GNR officer João Lopes, who was convicted for his involvement in assaults against immigrants in Odemira. Lopes, along with six other officers, faced charges related to multiple instances of kidnapping and assault, leading to a sentence of over eight years in prison.
