On the podcast Posto Emissor, Midus, bassist and vocalist for the band Roquivários, recalls ‘Cristina (Beleza É Fundamental)’, the band’s biggest hit which made history during the Portuguese rock boom of the early 80s: “The lyrics were about an ex-girlfriend of [saxophonist Mário] Gramaço, and it didn’t make sense for me to be saying ‘beauty is fundamental’.”
