Maria Tomé secured the silver medal in the elite women's race at the Europe Triathlon Cup in Quarteira this Saturday, achieving her career-best result in this Portuguese competition. The Portuguese triathlete, currently ranked 22nd in the world, finished 19 seconds behind the winner, Belgian Jolien Vermeylen. This performance follows her previous podium finishes in the event and continues her strong trajectory, which included an 11th-place finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and previous world championship medals in the U23 category.
