The teenager who killed his mother, then-councillor of Vagos City Council Susana Gravato, was sentenced this Friday, April 17, to three years of closed detention. The case dates back to October 21, 2025, when the woman was struck by a gunshot inside her home in Gafanha da Vagueira, in that municipality of the Aveiro district. The victim was found by her husband, who alerted the fire department. Less than 24 hours after the crime, the Judiciary Police announced they had identified the councillor's son as the sole suspect in his mother's death.
