Google has launched GroundSource, an AI-powered technology using Gemini to predict urban flash floods. By analysing millions of historical news reports and public records across 80 languages, the system overcomes the lack of physical sensors in cities, providing a 24-hour early warning window via the Flood Hub platform to help authorities and citizens mitigate disaster risks.
