In Quarteira, at Praia do Forte Novo, “there is a terrible drama”. In Mafra, one beach will be closed off this year, also due to damage caused by the storms. On the Costa da Caparica, it is hoped that the sea will calm down so that sand replenishment can begin. These and other beaches, added to unstable cliffs, are forcing the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) to take action.
