The teacher recruitment process for the upcoming school year opened this Wednesday, April 1st. The National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof) has criticised the government, stating that the number of permanent vacancies is lower than last year's, and has demanded explanations from the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI). According to the union, the 8,465 vacancies represent a 28% decrease compared to the previous year. The Ministry maintains that the figures are based on technical analysis and criteria such as student numbers, projected retirements, and specific needs in underserved regions.
