The CGTP, through its secretary-general, Tiago Oliveira, called for a general strike on June 3rd this Friday, which marks Labour Day. The secretary-general of the UGT, Mário Mourão, revealed that he does not rule out moving towards a general strike or other forms of protest after the final Social Concertation meeting.
