The President of the Republic, António José Seguro, gave the green light this Monday, March 30, to a Government decree aimed at updating the scope of taxpayers covered by automatic IRS (personal income tax) returns, following the revision of the Youth IRS regime. The decree, promulgated this Monday, amends Regulatory Decree no. 3/2024 to update the range of taxpayers eligible for automatic filing. This measure, approved on Friday, aims to enhance the simplicity and efficiency of the declaration process. According to the newspaper Público, young people benefiting from the Youth IRS (Model 3) will be covered by automatic filing starting this year, removing the requirement for manual income tax declaration. This change applies to the current tax campaign, which begins on Wednesday and ends on June 30, regarding 2025 income.
