It is not measured in degrees, but in rights. In recent years, we have witnessed a slow and persistent cooling of civic habits that has eroded institutions. This is not something that happens overnight, but a process of normalizing what would previously have been considered unacceptable. The retreat of liberal democracies and the expansion of political models that subordinate freedom to authority are clear signs that we are on the verge of a democratic winter. The Socialist Party (PS), meeting this weekend for its Congress, must lead the fight to restore trust, address inequality, and offer renewed solutions to the country's current challenges.
