The Regulatory Entity for Social Communication (ERC) has received 4,200 complaints as of Monday, April 20, concerning comments made by presenter Cristina Ferreira regarding the rape of a minor. The complaints are currently under review following an investigation launched by the Regulatory Council. The controversy stems from Ferreira's remarks on the TVI programme 'Dois às 10' about a case involving four influencers accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in 2025. TVI has rejected accusations that the programme trivialised the crime, claiming the presenter's comments were taken out of context and manipulated, and has threatened legal action against those spreading what it calls 'gratuitous and frivolous' accusations.
