Brazilian singer Adriana Calcanhotto will give four concerts in Portugal in October, featuring a voice and guitar format, the promoter announced on Wednesday, April 29. The statement revealed that the first date is October 22 at the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra, followed by the Cineteatro Curvo Semedo in Montemor-o-Novo, Évora district, two days later. On October 26, the author of “Vambora” will perform at the Teatro Tivoli in Lisbon, and finally, one day later, at the Casa da Música in Porto. “At a time when she marks 60 years of life and four decades of career, Adriana Calcanhotto presents a setlist that crosses some of her most iconic themes with a collection of songs that explore a Luso-Brazilian repertoire, crafted from her continued and passionate relationship with Portuguese-language poetry,” the statement read. The promoter noted that the dialogue between Brazil and Portugal has marked the work of the University of Coimbra ambassador, citing examples such as the “Complexo b” lecture-concert, the composition of a song for Salvador Sobral's new album, and her sold-out performance at the Buenos Aires Book Fair on April 25, which ended with Chico Buarque's “Tanto Mar” accompanied by red carnations. Tickets for Coimbra, Lisbon, and Porto are already on sale.
