Dental clinic revenue grows 6.3% in 2025 to 1.9 billion euros

Dental clinic revenue in Portugal grew 6.3% to 1.875 billion euros in 2025, according to an estimate released this Friday, the 24th, by Informa D&B, reflecting sustained growth in demand for dental services. Per capita spending has more than doubled over the last decade, reaching 173 euros per inhabitant compared to 78 euros ten years ago, a trend explained by the recovery in household consumption, increased employment, and greater concern for oral health and personal image. The market continues to be supported primarily by private clients, although there is growing penetration of dental insurance, and the sector is expected to maintain a growth trajectory in the short term, albeit at a more moderate pace. The supply remains fragmented, with a predominance of independent clinics, in a universe of 13,498 dentists registered with the Portuguese Dental Association in 2024, up 3.9% from the previous year, despite the gradual advance of chains. In terms of concentration, the top five companies held a combined market share of 13.7% in 2025, a figure that rises to 16.4% for the top ten, highlighting a still low degree of concentration in the sector. Private hospitals invest a record amount and increase activity in 2025.
