Revolut continues to grow in Portugal, having already surpassed 2.3 million customers, with plans to reach 2.5 million by 2026 and lead the sector. The company is focusing on offering better savings products than traditional banks and expanding into credit, including mortgages. This would mean surpassing Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), the current market leader. Rúben Germano, Revolut's General Manager in Portugal, stated that the company is very satisfied with the Portuguese market, where nearly one in four working-age adults is already a customer. While the company declined to disclose profitability for the Portuguese operation, it noted a 64% increase in deposits last year, driven by competitive savings accounts. Revolut also plans to expand its B2B offerings and eventually enter the mortgage market in Portugal.
