European Parliament approves draft law aimed at protecting companion animals

The European Parliament has approved a draft bill for a European law on the protection of companion animals. Mandatory microchipping and registration of all dogs and cats in the European Union and a ban on breeding dogs or cats with excessive physical characteristics are some of the measures advocated by MEPs.
