A new wave of scam attempts via SMS is targeting National Health Service (SNS) users. Using a technique called ID Spoofing, attackers mask their number as official entities like 'MIN.SAUDE' or 'SNS 24', causing the fraudulent messages to appear in the same conversation thread as legitimate health notifications. The messages typically claim an outstanding debt of 46.70 euros and provide Multibanco payment details. Authorities warn that the SNS never requests payments via SMS and advise users to delete such messages immediately without clicking any links or making payments.
