The Porto Brandão ferry station, located in the municipality of Almada, reopened on Thursday, February 26, after being closed since February 11 due to road access being blocked by landslides. Transtejo, responsible for ferry connections between Seixal, Montijo, Cacilhas, and Trafaria/Porto Brandão, announced the resumption of services following the reopening of road access by the relevant authorities. The ferry service is now back to normal, having been limited to the Trafaria – Belém (Lisbon) route during the closure. The area had been evacuated due to the risk of further landslides, with a total of 476 people evacuated in the municipality, and 18 fatalities reported in Portugal due to recent storms.
