Bison Bank has announced the official entry of the first Portuguese stablecoin, with the primary medium-term goal being the construction and consolidation of the ecosystem, according to CEO António Henriques. The bank is launching two E-money Tokens (EMT) – one pegged to the Euro (EUB) and one to the US Dollar (USB) – aimed exclusively at institutional and regulated segments to streamline cross-border payments. The bank, which recently tripled its profits to 8.8 million euros in 2025, aims to issue 5 million euros in tokens in its first year of operation.
