UN General Assembly declares slave trade as "most serious crime against humanity"

The UN General Assembly approved a resolution today declaring the trafficking of enslaved Africans and racialised enslavement as the “most serious crime against humanity” and advocates for historical reparations, in a vote in which Portugal abstained.
