The RTP Workers' Committee announced this Thursday, March 26, that management has proposed a salary increase of 7.50 euros, well below the Government's recommendation, and has called for attendance at a plenary meeting scheduled for this Friday. The committee described the proposal as a deliberate insult, noting that the Government's recommendation for the state business sector suggests increases of 56.58 euros. Management also intends to eliminate the 3% discount for supplementary pension insurance and end the travel allowance, while meal subsidies remain unchanged despite rising costs. The committee further criticised Minister Leitão Amaro for refusing to update the Audiovisual Contribution, which is indexed to inflation, resulting in a significant loss of funding for the public broadcaster.
