The president of the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) stated that municipalities are ready to support the distribution and sale of newspapers to ensure all citizens have access to the press. Pedro Pimpão highlighted the need for special attention to sales points in low-density areas. The Government has proposed a three-year, 3.5 million euro support model, though the national distributor VASP has expressed concerns that the proposal could have unintended negative effects.
