FIFA has approved a record financial distribution for teams participating in the 2026 World Cup, setting the total amount for the 48 teams at 871 million dollars. Portugal has already guaranteed approximately 12 million euros in participation and preparation fees. The FIFA Council also introduced disciplinary changes, including stricter sanctions for player misconduct, and confirmed host nations for future youth and women's tournaments.
