Considered a polymath of the arts because of his wide-ranging artistic career, he brings his own talents and humour to politics. A musician, visual artist and university professor, Manuel João Vieira is once again standing for President of the Republic, in his characteristic satirical tone and with ideas that are, to say the least, extravagant — such as promising a Ferrari for every Portuguese or 'wine from the tap' in every home. While also drawing attention to social issues and the country's problems, he presents himself as the candidate who fights for the right to happiness.
