Family launches crowdfunding campaign to repatriate body of missing Brazilian woman

The family of a Brazilian immigrant who had been missing has set up an online fundraiser to bring her body back to Brazil. They need 30,000 reais so that the mother, son, and other relatives of Francisca Maria Sousa Santos can say their final goodbyes and hold a funeral in her homeland. The Judiciary Police (PJ) confirmed through forensic analysis that the body found in February is that of the immigrant. Once released, the family has 30 days to complete the arrangements, or she will be buried as an indigent person. Francisca had been missing since June 20 of last year in Tabuaço, and her remains were discovered behind a cemetery by workers pruning plants. No arrests have been made yet.
